A Peek Into My Life: My Makeup Case

______________________
I'm obsessed with makeup! I'm constantly watching youtube tutorials, trying samples of new products, and practicing my smoky eye look. Recently I took my mom shopping for some new cosmetics. She has used Merle Norman makeup for years, and she was feeling rather dissatisfied with their products. I took her to Sephora and had a free-for-all while pilling all of my favorite brands into her basket. While we were there, I purchased a very adorable bubble gum pink makeup case for my daily cosmetics. It's such a fashionable way to organize my makeup, especially when I out of town for work or holiday.

The products I absolutely cannot live without are my Tweezerman tweezers, Anastasia brow powder, and eyeshadow primer. I love my Betsey Johnson Tweezerman tweezers more than any tweezers I have ever owned. I think Tweezerman tweezers are far superior to any of their drugstore counterparts. Betsey Johnson's stylish designs only compliment an already phenomenal product.

One of the reasons I love my makeup case is because it puts all of my favorite products on display. When I'm getting ready in the morning or getting dolled up for an evening date, I love to open up my case, lay out my brushes, and put on one of my favorite Pandora stations.

I like to pack some of my daily product into my Betseyville makeup case and carry it around in my purse. I usually touch up my makeup halfway through the day. As you can probably tell, I'm obsessed with Betsey Johnson.

Hello from Oklahoma, Lovely Friend!  Right Now, I'm at the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival Regional Competition in Norman, Oklahoma.

During the fall, I was the stage manager for my university's production of The Foreigner. I was awarded meritorious achievement in stage managing and given the opportunity to compete against other stage managers in my region. I put together a display of my work, touched up my resume, and wrote a letter of intent prior to leaving for Oklahoma. The regional festival is being hosted by The University of Oklahoma in Norman.

We arrived in Oklahoma on Monday and plan to depart on Sunday after a week of interviews, workshops, and theatre shows. So far I have been extremely busy. I was given the opportunity to stage manage one of the events and work underneath a world renowned stage director & actor. It has been such an incredible experience so far, and I'm excited for what is to come in the next two days.

A Peek Into My Life: What's Inside My Filofax!

________________________

Ever since I bought my very first Metropol Filofax in raspberry, I have been hooked. Remember when I wrote about my Filofax mania? I still have it! After using my Metropol for a year, I decided to upgrade to a Classic Filofax in pink. After several days of impatient Fed-Ex stalking, my brand new organizer arrived in the mail. I quickly scooped the contents of my old Filofax and re-organized them inside my new planner.

I have received several requests through email & comments asking for a post about the inside of my Filofax. One of the things I love the most about my Filofax besides the amazing quality & vibrant color is the versatility. I also adore how customizable these organizers are. It's effortless to personalize your Filofax    and set it up to meet your organizational needs. It's a phenomenal product that fills my life with colorful glee & keeps me on track. I'm definitely smitten with Filofaxes!

I use the front pockets of my Filofax to store stamps, post-its, sticky tabs, and important notes. I created the front page with some of my favorite pictures, a sheet of scrapbook paper, and some colorful stickers. I love to open my Filofax and see a burst of color. It's very inspiring.

________________________

I have a small pocket pouch that I put inspiring pictures in every week. Sometimes I put small momentos or little reminders inside the pouch. Right now, I have a Instax pic of Apollo, one of my favorite pictures from Pinterest, and a card from my best friend.

________________________

I'm completely obsessed with sticky tabs & post-its. I use them like they are going out of style.

________________________

I have several pages filled with important business cards from my contacts & favorite businesses. It's very easy to look up a phone number or website just by flipping through my business card section.

I use the to-do section of my Filofax the most. I make weekly & daily to-do lists, especially during busy weeks. I just ordered a new package of to-do list sheets because I use them so frequently. It has really helped me stay focused & productive.

 ________________________

I love to write down my favorite things of the moment in the gratitude list section of my Filofax. Whenever something makes me smile or laugh, I quickly jot it down. I use the gratitude list section to help me compose my "Thankful Thursday" blog posts. It's also fun to sit down and write out an entire page of things that make me happy.
________________________

 ________________________

I use the calendar section to write down all of my important (& not so important)appointments & schedule out my time for the week. I make my own schedule for work, so I usually document my school schedule and fill in the blanks with work times. I also write down dates with my friends and reminders.

________________________

I journal about my struggles with feeling anxious in the anxiety section of my Filofax. It has been very helpful in quelling my anxiety, especially when I start feeling anxious during the day.

________________________

The very last page of my Filofax has my favorite pictures that I have taken myself. None of them are photographic masterpieces, but they all have sentimental meaning to me.

I adore the colorful note paper. I pull out sheets of this to jot down grocery lists, reminders, and notes to my friends.

Love is All You Need!

Happy Valentine's Week! I celebrate most holidays all week long, and Valentine's Day is no exception. Ever since I was a little girl, I have been enraptured with the pink hearts and colorful Valentine cards. I happily browse the holiday aisles just to see the gigantic teddy bears, heart shaped lollipops, and chocolate roses. There is just a magical feeling that I associate with Valentine's Day.

When I was very small, I developed an extreme illness around the beginning of February. I was in the hospital for several weeks and missed out on the Valentine's party at my school. When I came home from the hospital, I found a gigantic sheet of butcher paper pinned to my bedroom wall. It was pasted with a plethora of colorful cards, Valentine's doodles, and many "get well" wishes. That was the moment when I knew Valentine's Day would always have a special place in my heart.

I just adore the idea of a day dedicated to love. Not just romantic love. Love between friends. Love of one's family. and most of all, SELF LOVE.

This week is the perfect time to show yourself a little self love. Who better to be your Valentine than your beautiful self?
No one deserves your love more.

Thankful Thursday!

____________________

I have had such a crazy week, lovelies! As much as I love being busy, I hate it when I'm so strapped for time that I don't even get a few moments for blogging or eating. Both are necessities in my life. I have made a personal resolution to make more time for the things that make me happiest. I think we all should spend a little more time investing in our own happiness. Although Thursday is almost over, I felt inspired to reflect on all the things in my life that make me smile. Being thankful is an amazing feeling.

♥ The people in my life...I came down with some awful sickness yesterday, and my boyfriend, friends, and family have all been incredibly supportive. I have such an amazing support system.

♥ My filofax...It has been my lifeline all week. When I start freaking out or stressing, I just open up the lovely pages of my bright pink filofax and organize my madness. I have started making weekly & daily to-do lists. It's insanely easy to keep track of my lists with my filofax.

A Peek Into My Life: My Daily Essentials

________________________________
While scrolling the internet on my iPhone under the covers of my bed, I had a thunder bolt of inspiration. There are several important items that I rely on daily in order to help me stay on track, organized, and happy. I think we all have daily essentials that make our lives more enjoyable. Obviously, I do rely heavily on technology, but I like to apply it to my own specific needs. I.E. watching netflix movies or playing words with friends in bed. I came up with a list of the top ten things I rely on during my daily routine. Here are my daily esentials:
________________________________

________________________________
My MacBook Pro...aka Bobo the computer. I use my computer for pretty much EVERYTHING. For school, personal use, work, and blogging. Because I'm sort of OCD about organization, I love to have my computer with me at all times to take notes, make documents, send emails, or input information. I absolutely adore my computer and think my life would be a mess without it.
________________________________

 ________________________________
Fujifilm Instax Mini Camera...for lots of candid photos. This is one of my favorite cameras ever just because it produced the cutest little instant pictures. I like to use the pictures to decorate my inspiration board and to stick in random places all over my office.
________________________________

________________________________
Post-its, sticky tabs, and sharpies...because office supplies truly excite me. I know that is extremely lame, but just like cleaning supplies, I get very excited while shopping at Office Depot for a new binder or a package of colorful sharpies. I use my sharpies and post-its a lot for my job so it makes life a lot easier to a stash of them inside the pouch of my filofax.
________________________________

________________________________
My Pink Classic Filofax...which I would be lost forever without. It keeps all of my appointments, important phone numbers, to-do lists, and much more. I also have a lot of extra note paper in the back when I need to jot down notes for something in a hurry. I've always been a big fan of personal organizers, although I didn't start using filofaxes until last year. It has made my life a million times more organized. Also, I love the color and the quality of the organizer. From someone who has actually had an overstuffed organizer fall apart, I really love how heavy-duty and well-made the filofaxes are. I also love how customizable they are. I think everyone has a different & unique set up for their filofax.
________________________________

________________________________
My Coach wristlet...which serves as my wallet. I have never been a big fan of tradition wallets, and I have a strange system for my handbags. Because I go back & forth from work to school, I usually have oversized bags for all of my stuff. I have a gigantic Betseyville tote that I use all the time. I like to put all of my wallet items, cell phone, and lipstain inside my wristlet. It's very helpful because I can just grab my wristlet when I go into a restaurant or store. I don't have to lug around my huge bag full of books & work files.
________________________________

________________________________
My iPhone 4S...I just upgraded my phone a few weeks ago. I use my phone for everything. I'm required to email a lot for work, so I manage all of my accounts from my phone. I also text my sister a lot because she lives a million miles away from me. I just bought a custom case from Luxyloli on etsy, and I love it so much. It makes my iPhone even more fun to use.
________________________________

________________________________
Vera Wang Princess...I absolutely love perfume. I buy a new scent every couple of months. Vera Wang's Princess is one of my staple scents because it's very light and feminine. I've also started wearing Lovestruck by Vera Wang, but I still love Princess more.
________________________________

________________________________
Glitter Nail Polish...for in between manicures. I've recently been getting shellack put on my nails because it lasts for a few weeks. Unfortunately, I only get into the nail salon once a month. So I paint my nails with lots of different glitter polish when my shellack manicures wear off. I love glitter polish because it's easier to put on neatly than regular polish. Also, I love anything shiny.
________________________________

________________________________
Hand Sanitizer from Bath & Body Works, they're REAL mascara by Benefit, "that gal" face brightening primer, Tarte lipsurgence lip stain in pouty, Betsey Johnson Tweezerman tweezers, NARS blush in Orgasm, and NAKED pallet by Urban Decay...These are my makeup staples. If I was stranded on a desert island, I would wish for these beauty products. That and David Tennant. I'm sort of a makeup junky, so I love trying new products. I'm actually dying for the NAKED 2 pallet by Urban Decay, but I can't justify the purchase because I just bought the first pallet.
________________________________

________________________________
My Inspiration Board...for all of my favorite pictures, magazine clippings, and collages. I'm constantly changing the pictures & rearranging them. I love having a place for visual inspiration.
