My Funny Valentine

I  made a Valentine just for you, Lovelies!!

Valentine's Day has always been my favorite holiday!! Even when I'm single, a holiday dedicated to love has always appealed to me. I think that even if you don't have someone to celebrate with, Valentine's Day is all about love for yourself and for the people in your life. I always give out presents to all of my favorite people on Valentine's Day to show them that they have a piece of my heart.

While Valentine's Day may not be the most profound holiday in comparison with Christmas and Easter, it has always been a special holiday for me. When I was in kindergarten, I developed strep throat, chicken pox, and pneumonia all at the same time. I was in the hospital during Valentine's day and missed the class party and valentine exchange (which is a big deal to children). My class got a giant piece of butcher paper and every student attached a valentine along with a loving message that my recovery would come soon. My parents hung up the giant valentine in my room and it was there for me to see while I recovered. Being a child, my parents never told me that my life was in danger. It wasn't until after I recovered that my parents revealed that I almost died while in the hospital. I really think that seeing that giant valentine in my room and knowing that so many people loved me was the reason that I fought for my life and recovered. I think that we all need to know that the people in our lives love us. We need that love to fill our hearts and build us up when we fall down. I know many of my friends hate Valentine's Day or think of it as just another day, but I adore the idea of a day to celebrate all of the love in my life.  It makes me realize that everyday is a small celebration of my life and the people in it.

Plus, I really love hearts, lace, and anything pink!!

I'm sending all of you lots of lovely thoughts! I hope that you make your celebration of love count!! Call all of your friends and family to let them know that you are thinking about them! Hand write cards to your co-workers letting them know that you enjoy working with them! Bake some cupcakes for your neighbors! Send out a quick "Happy Valentine's Day" text to all of your buddies! Show everyone in your life that you love them! The smallest gestures of love mean the most!!

Fill the world with love this Valentine's Day!!
