I have a very large dream journal filled with various short stories that were inspired by my dreams. I just wrote this one about a dream I had the other night and thought you might like to read it. I'm feeling a little shy about posting it so if you hate it, please be kind to me.
Dreaming in the Stars
By Quirky Girl aka Jacque
She was often found sitting outside in the rose garden, gazing at the flowers in all of their vibrance. That was were he happened upon her on their first encounter. He wanted to ask her why she looked so sad while sitting among such beautiful companions, but her eyes remained clouded over within a daydream when he tried to gain her attention.
There had been many wars, battles that took the lives of so many of her friends. She retreated inward to escape from the pain of her reality. And the spirits that lived in the flowers became her confidants. They whispered loving words in her ears and cared for her fragile soul.
No matter where she went after that day in the rose garden, she could not escape him and his questioning gaze. He was often lurking about with his hands clasped awkwardly and a silent 'hello' hanging on his lips. She wondered why he was so shy about his intentions when so many others could not contain their blunt thoughts about her. She became interested in only him, and the rest of the world fell away. She wrote poems about his eyes, his lips, his arms. She would find his likeness in the stars at night. A glance from him was all she needed to know that he felt the same way.
After sharing a kiss, they would only fall in love deeper and deeper as each day went by. And their love would be torn apart by the world outside of their paradise.
She was taken far away from him on a voyage that took her to a completely different world. A place where people were unable to appreciate the beauty of their existence. A place where people were so filled with guilt that they could not live but one life. They suffered through countless lives as they tried to repent for past mistakes. It was a miserable place for her to live and she became filled with hate. Her heart became black and cold. She became just as the people of her new home.
That is, until she looked up to the stars and saw the likeness of his face and she remembered that she had not always been alone. She knew that one day, he would come to find her and her heart would know only his love once again.
